Jedd Novatt: Susse Chaos

12 December 2007 - 12 January 2008

Within this body of small-scale works, Susse Chaos, American sculptor Jedd Novatt uses a rich repertoire of shapes and configurations experimenting with arrangements of great structural complexity and exploring the idea of balance.

Novatt's sculptures range in size from intimate tabletop pieces to monumental works reaching twenty foot high. The bronze sculptures within this series stand between seventeen inches to thirty-three inches tall.

"Out of chaos comes order. Jedd Novatt's impressive new body of work explores the structural tensions specific to sculpture - the forces that bring equilibrium or disequilibrium to three-dimensional form. Notwithstanding the disorder implied by their titles, the finished objects are elegant and visually thrilling.", Tom Flynn.
