Over 200 photographs taken by Albert Watson in and around Rome over the last year will feature in a landmark exhibition held at the Palazzo Esposizioni, opening on May 28th 2025. The images will all be large format prints on canvas and are a monumental depiction of the city of Rome through the eyes of Albert Watson.
According to the Palazzo Esposizioni "this will be the biggest photographic exhibition ever held in Italy dedicated to the iconic New York photographer. Rome Codex is a challenge to conventional representations of the Eternal City, a contemporary tale that transcends visual stereotypes drawing to the most authentic essence of the city."
Albert Watson is renowned for his fashion, celebrity and fine art photography. He has shot over 100 covers for Vogue and 40 for Rolling Stone magazine since the 1970s. He has been acclaimed as one of the 20 most influential photographers of all time alongside Richard Avedon and Irving Penn.
